Piña Colada Day!!

If you like Piña Coladas, and getting caught in the rain…

Today is National Piña Colada day! Well according to the internet it is…

I’m not exactly sure who makes up these National days or exactly which nation it’s supposed to apply to, but thankfully today is a good one!

Piña Coladas remind me of when my husband and I travelled to Barbados on our honeymoon.  I had Piña Coladas in the Pool at 10:30 one morning….

For those who don’t know, Barbados is the home of Malibu coconut rum (my favourite) and Piña Coladas are made of Pineapple & Coconut (and rum if you prefer yours alcoholic).

This is not a paid link, I’d just thought I’d share that in the UK you can register with Malibu and they can give you a voucher to redeem a free Piña Colada at a local bar (over 18s only ) here Malibu Piña Colada Day

If you don’t fancy that you can always stay at home and make your own…

Here are two great recipes for Piña Coladas:

Non Alcoholic Piña Colada: (Serves 4/5 people )

You will need:

500ml Pineapple Juice

1 can coconut milk (or cream)  – (refrigerated if possible)

Ice (crushed if possible, if not cubes are fine)

Combine and enjoy!

Alcoholic Piña Colada (serves one)

You will need:

50ml Pineapple Juice

25ml Coconut milk (or cream) Refrigerated if possible

25ml Coconut Rum (I use Malibu)  – feel free to double it!

Ice (crushed or cubed)

Mix all together and enjoy !

Have a great Piña Colada Day!

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a Pina Colada … I do like pineapple and coconut though so this could be the day I try it. You’ve done your work Pina Colada Day! 🙂

I love everything pinacolada scented but I’m not gonna lie, I’ve never had an actual pinacolada. I\ve only had it as an ice cream cocktail which I don’t think counts haha! x

These are great recipes! I don’t like the taste of pineapple so much but i think using in pina colada makes it easier to drink. So good for hot summer days!
